Would You Compromise Your Happiness for the Success of Your relationship?

Some will cleanly say a big “No” to this question, while some may say a “Yes”. Well, as many would agree with me, there doesn’t exist a “how to” manual for relationships. If there existed something like that, I wouldn’t be writing this and you wouldn’t be reading this either.

Well, "compromise" means creating a win-win situation, where each party gives up something to get something. However, people do not understand that it does not include giving up their happiness.

Personally, I believe that if you value your relationship, you would want to be happy and experience some sense of sanity and calm in it. It would not make any sense then, for you to separate your own happiness from the relationship, because, lets face it,  you are in it to be happier and fulfilled.

Which brings us back to the question at hand, would you compromise your happiness for the success of your relationship?

  1. I BELIVE THAT IF YOU HAVE TO COMPROMISE YOUR HAPPINESS FOR YOUR RELATIONSHIP. THEN ITS NOT LOVE. ITS SOMETHING MUCH MORE DIFFERENT AND DARK. AND CAN KILL YOU IN THE PROCESS.

  6. If I wash the dishes he shud rinse them , that's compromise. When he does this without me telling him to that's sacrifice. And the joy og working together is happiness. And to me that being in a relationship. All or nothing

  9. Taj..... A compromised relationship is a trouble relationship! Never compromise ur relationship cos it defintely would lead to a major compromise where 1 of the party would ve compromised es or er own future! So I say I take happiness b4 any dead relationship, nw I'm at peace wit ma self! Wink

  14. Nah - the whole point of being in a relationship is happiness. So I definitely wouldn't compromise my happiness just for the sake of having a man in my life.
